“OCT 25, 1960: in its Havana headquarters, the FRD [Frente Revolucionario Democratico<\/em>-Cuban Revolutionary Democratic Front] drafts an operational blueprint for overthrowing [Fidel] Castro. The document suggests that some arms have arrived and others are expected. It lists the first resistance goal as liberating Pinar del R\u00edo; \u2018commando actions\u2019 in Havana are also planned \u2018producing unrest and weakening control to make sure the government cannot accumulate troops and send them to Pinar del Rio.\u2019 The plan also refers to \u2018armed expeditions from outside Cuba\u2019 which will coincide with the beginning of operations in the province.\u201d<\/p>\n
