Studds Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary<\/a><i> &#8211; The marine sanctuary&#8217;s headquarters are located in Scituate, Mass.<\/i><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/graysreef.noaa.gov\/welcome.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gray&#8217;s Reef National Marine Sanctuary<\/a><i> &#8211; Online site for largest near-shore &#8220;live-bottom&#8221; reefs of the southeastern US in Georgia.<\/i><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/farallones.noaa.gov\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary (GFNMS)<\/a><i> &#8211; The public Visitor Center on Crissy Field in the Presidio of San Francisco.<\/i><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/hawaiihumpbackwhale.noaa.gov\/explore\/welcome.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary<\/a><i> &#8211; The Sanctuary Visitor Center is in Kihei, Maui.<\/i><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/monitor.noaa.gov\/about\/welcome.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Monitor National Marine Sanctuary (MNMS)<\/a>&nbsp;&#8211; <i>\u201c<\/i><em>On January 30, 1975, the Monitor National Marine Sanctuary (MNMS) was designated our nation&#8217;s first national marine sanctuary.\u201d Newport News, Virginia.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/montereybay.noaa.gov\/visitor\/explore.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary (MBNMS)<\/a><i> &#8211; California marine sanctuary for whale watching, wildlife viewing, tide pooling and kayaking.<\/i><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/americansamoa.noaa.gov\/about\/designation.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">National Marine Sanctuary of American Samoa<\/a>&nbsp;&#8211; <em>\u201cNOAA co-manages the sanctuary with the American Samoa Government and works closely with communities adjacent to the sanctuary, all within the context of Samoan cultural traditions and practices.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/olympiccoast.noaa.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary<\/a><i> &#8211; Washington state marine sanctuary includes rocky reef habitats.<\/i><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.papahanaumokuakea.gov\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Papahnaumokukea Marine National Monument<\/a><i> &#8211; Northwestern Hawaiian Islands Marine National Monument with extensive coral reefs.<\/i><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/thunderbay.noaa.gov\/about\/welcome.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary<\/a><i> &#8211; Marine sanctuary in Alpena, Michigan, with an online page about shipwrecks.<\/i> <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I.
